Trackwork

It would not me much of a model railroad if there was no trackage.

The club uses Code 83 for visible mainline track and Code 100 in staging yards and the helix.

A few years ago, some very fine snow blew in through a gap in a window. The resulting water damage was minor, but the track involved has slowly deteriorated. The single track between CP Sidney and CP Bain has also become a bit of a choke point. In addition a double track trolley line was shoe-horned into an area that was tough to work on. Both areas are being removed.

A portion of the trolley track will become the new double track section between CP Bain and CP Sidney. We are using flex track, although in the past we have hand-laid track. We spike every tenth tie on straight track sections. The aluminum template helps keep the proper tie spacing. Once the track and feeders are in, it will be put into place.
